Tonight, the School Committee will continue discussing different scenarios for operating district schools to save money. The board must vote on a budget before April's Town Meeting, but closing one school won't close the gap completely. "I think in the next two weeks we'll have to make a decision and go from there," Hulme said. "What other things we will cut depends on what we decide to do with the schools." Superintendent Mark Smith tonight will provide cost savings data for different configurations of schools, including moving the fifth-grade into the middle schools, Hulme said. Smith also will present his first draft of the budget, but Hulme did not have any details. "I have not seen anything about his recommendations," Hulme said. Smith was not available for comment. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Desmarais Room at the King Building, 454 Water St. ____________________________________________________________ News you need, from metrowestdailynews.com e-news Get the top headlines of the day delivered right to your e-mail in-box with metrowestdailynews.com e-news.
