With all of the budget cuts that were done this year, therefore less people who are employees doing much more work, I would think the town would jump at ensuring volunteer positions were filled as soon as possible with qualified candidates. If the issue is that the candidates aren't qualified, in the Town Manager's opinion, then he should say so.
There are numerous projects in the Town that need ConCom oversight and with the ConCom Admin resignation -- it seems even more important to have the Conservation Commission fully appointed ASAP. Why is there any delay? At present, I have been told there are 4 open seats -- and at least 4 people who are vying for those seats. Have they all been posted as open positions? If not, again, what is the delay? When the Town is having financial constraints it should be accepting as much volunteer assistance as quickly as it can!!!
