Good Evening/ Good Morning!

Just to let you know, we completed some overrides as of 12 midnight Thursday
evening/Friday morning.  On many occasions, House Republicans joined
Democrats in restoring funding -- on about a dozen, restoration was
unanimous. Some of the overrides from today and yesterday include the
following restoration of funds/language:

1.  The $160,000 for MERC at Framingham State College

2. The $100,000 for the I � 495 Technology Corridor Partnership

3. The $75,000 for the Technology Initiative of the Metro South/West
Regional Employment Board

4. $5 million in Sewer Rate Relief

5. The $7 million in the Education Reform Reserve, or �Pothole� Fund

6. Money to fully fund the special education �Circuit Breaker� - $6.5 m

7. DMR � Line Items for:  Administration; Community Based Day & Work
Programs; Independent Living; and  Turning 22

8. Home care administration & management and congregate housing & care for
seniors and disabled

9.   Councils on Aging

10. 4110-2000   Mass  Rehab Comm - Turning 22 services

11. 4110-0001 Office of the Commissioner of the Blind; the governor reduced
the item by $213,456, to $611,836

12.  2010-0100 Clean Environment Recycling Initiative; the governor reduced
the item by $2,900,000, to $613,437

13. 4513-1026, a $125,000 line item for suicide prevention

14. 7000-9101 Board of Library Commissioners; the governor reduced the item
by $100,000, to $791,182.

15.  1410-0012 Veterans Outreach; the governor reduced the item by $165,000,
to $853,615

16.   4130-0002 child abuse prevention program trust fund administration;
the governor fully vetoed the $870,557 line item

17.  4510-0720, a $250,000 line item for nurse�s aide scholarships

18.  Legal Assistance Corp, Mental Health Legal �dvisors

19.  Regional Library Funding

20. Breast Cancer Screening& Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment ($2.7 m)

21.  Prostate Cancer Screening

22.   AIDS 

23.   Smoking Cessation and Prevention Programs
 
24.   Universal  Newborn Hearing Screening Program
        
 25.    Commission for the Blind
                        - Community Services and Admin
                        - Talking Information Centers
                                - Radio Reading Service Funded included
 26.  Riverways Protection
        Watershed Management

27.  DMH - Adult In- Patient and Community Mental Health

Also � Overrode governor�s veto of:

- Outside Section 604:  Commission to study alternatives to property tax to
fund education 

- Outside Section 607:  local aid/chapter 70 formula study commission

We also passed an Act to continue the Teacher/Principal Quality Endowment �
the signing Bonuses and Master Teacher funds
