John et al: Thank you for bringing to attention of all the issue of the Town Manager's employment contract and extensions thereto. It seems to me that an extension of contract should only be available at the end of the initial term of the contract (which btw is 3 years). Therefore, this should be an issue of great concern to TMM and voters in general particularly since the topic of government type has been a hot topic recently. Consequently this matter should be addressed immediately and directed to the Board of Selectmen prior to Mr. King's upcoming review regarding the propriety of such extension.
The issue is not whether or not Mr. King's performance is adequate but rather if it is appropriate to allow the town manager a contract that seemingly will never end. I submit this proposal to all.
