Hi, Background - I know FrameMaker (unstructured), I know XML, I know DITA, I know Oxygen. I thought doing Dita in FM would come naturally to me, but it has not. So, I have some basic questions for the group.
1. When I create a dita map and add topics, I do not see any heading options in the elements available. How do I add a heading structure within an element? Is it only based on hierarchy in the map? Sometimes I want some hierarchy in my topics. 2. I can copy the output templates folder and rename it, but I have difficulty figuring out what to do with each file in the folder. I can modify the title page easily but can't make sense of what else is there. For example, the PDF is transforming with numbered headings that all start on new pages. I would expect the paragraph designer to give me some ability to change this within a chapter. It does not. I did the Save as FM with components and then publish it to PDF. I need to know how to customize the templates. Once I understand this, I know how to create the new settings file to reference. I can't find a CSS, that I can modify either. Are there any tutorials available to guide me on these two items? Does anybody have a good, non-numbered Dita map to PDF template I could start with? I feel like such a newbie ☹ Debbi _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
