Niels, Let's say the text you copy-specialed the character format from was body text. Let's say it's 11-pt Times bold. If you do search-and-replace on any bold text, and you have bold in your 10-pt tables and your 9-point footnotes and your 11-point Arial captions and your 12-point Arial Headings, that will all turn into 11-point Times bold.

If I Copy Special a Char Format, say the Emphasis format, and replace a bolded text by pasting the Char Format, then the text is stamped with the Emphasis format - the bold goes away, and the text is emphasized. If you later change the format, then the formerly bolded text gets changed, too. And that's what I believe Marcus wanted. Be ye the judge, Marcus! :o) -Niels > -----Original Message----- > From: Rick Quatro [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 6. januar 2006 13:58 > To: Niels Fanøe; Marcus Carr; Frame Users > Subject: Re: Converting to Character Formats > > The problem with this approach is that when you choose Edit > > Copy Special > Character Format, it copies ALL of the > formatting of the selected text, not just those of the > character format applied to it.
