Use a hypertext marker in FrameMaker.

1. Make your link, e.g. Email: <hyperlink character
tag>[EMAIL PROTECTED]</chartag>
(I've found you HAVE to use some sort of character tag on a hypertext
marker, otherwise the entire paragraph becomes a link)

2. Select the text of your link and add a hypertext marker as follows:

message URL mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

>From a PDF or WebWorks Help, that creates a link that will attempt to open
the default mail client and e-mail to that address.

Subject: Calling an External App

I have a client that wants to call the default email application from the
PDF and online help (produced with WWP). Putting WWP aside for now, is
there a way to set up a call to an external application, have the
application open and be populated?

Further, can you set it up so that it calls the default email client?

Thanks,
Ron
