First, you should remove hidden characters from the Word file by
saving in FM as a MIF file, then reopening it, and saving it as the
binary FM format.

1. Then, type one of your strings and apply your XYZ character format.
2. Put your cursor within the character format area. Right click and
select Copy Special > Copy Character Format.
3. Use Find/Replace to locate bold strings and Replace them by
Pasting from the clipboard.
