Well, I'll be damned! Indeed, Penelope, you're right: It's an Internet
Explorer thing. I turned AutoComplete back on and everything works fine
again now.

Oddly enough, it's an Internet Explorer setting. To turn the
auto-complete feature back on, just reverse the instructions in "How to
Prevent the AutoComplete List of File Names from Appearing".
