Hello there...I am trying to work with a translator to localize an
English language manual into Standard Mandarin. The manual is in
FrameMaker 7.0. I sent my translator my FrameMaker files in MIF format.
My translator did a partial translation of a sample file in MIF format,
using Trados, and sent it back to me. When I open the MIF file, it is
not displaying the Chinese characters correctly-random punctuation
appears instead. A separate document that had only Chinese characters is
displaying just fine. I have set up East Asian languages on my computer,
and the fonts seem to be available. The Chinese translation also
displays in a related RTF file.

I know that getting FrameMaker to display both English and Chinese
characters at the same time is challenging...is it even possible? It
seems to be, from the FrameMaker document about Chinese and Korean
characters, but there is no clear explanation of how to implement this.
We need our documents to show both character sets, due to the nature of
our technical information.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
