Yes, exactly. We have templates for all the generated files, as well as the content chapter files, book cover etc. and they have saved us a lot of grief

I guess that makes it two keys to making this work. ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Linda G. Then when you update the book, it will write into that file, replacing the old content (if present) with the new stuff. Regards, Micheal O'Laoghaire BSS Line of Product Documentation Comverse Inc. And oddly enough, it appears to be pulling from an OLD title page -- there was a draft graphic on the second page that I removed 5 or 6 iterations ago. When I imported formats from a different file, the master pages changed, but the body pages didn't. The title page had five text boxes, and the file I imported from only had one text box. While the background info changed (driven by the master page), the five text boxes remained. But the template's been wonky all morning -- I ran it once and got missing cross-references errors, but when I ran it a second time, all was good. I think Darren hit the nail on the head with his questions - -there was an underscore in the book name (but not between the book name and the TOC). I've since renamed the TOC to simply "TOC." I've run the book several times now and all is good. Phew.
