Nancy, Open the document with the new master pages. Delete all of the master pages except the ones that you want to import into other documents. Leave this document open.
Create a book file that contains all of the target documents, which do not have to be open. From the book file, select all of the target documents. From the file menu select Import and Formats. Deselect all of the options except Page Layouts. Now you will be importing only your new master pages into all of your target documents. If the names of the new master pages are different, they will be added to the existing masters in the target. If the names are the same, the old will be replaced by the new.
