I've had an Olympus D2 for several years and it works great. It is a
USB device, so it's easy to move files back and forth either with
Windows or the Olympus software. Also has an external jack so you can
add a better stereo mic if you want to record music, or a shotgun mic
for picking up a distant speaker.
Before you buy, you may want to do a search for voice recognition
software packages. My Olympus was bundled by a vendor with Dragon
Naturally Speaking, and the combo has both worked very well and was
available at a discount.
