Correct. You can't choose which master page. When I want to import a
specific format to another doc, I do a Save As, delete all the other
formats from the copy, then import the formats. It's not as time
consuming as it sounds.

For example, if I want to import a cross-reference format, I do a Save
As, delete all other cross-reference formats, then import the
cross-reference formats to all the other docs. Just be careful to only
import the formats that you want to import. Otherwise, you could end up
with a big mess.
