Just a quick thought: With View > Text Symbols ON, does any frame in the text flow display the black line overflow indicator at the bottom of the frame? This might shed a bit more light on where to seek the missing frame. It's a bit counter-intuitive because usually this only occurs in the last frame in a flow, one that lacks the Autoflow property to create a "next" frame for the overflow; it sounds as if this isn't the case for you.
