*DATE* 11 and 12 February 2010 *CONTENTS* You will learn the principles and mechanisms of topic-oriented authoring, following the DITA information model. You create valid DITA topics of various information types and collect these topics in a prototype DITA map, ready for publication. You use various DITA-aware editors, such as DITA-FMx, XMetaL and oXygen XML Editor. ** *TRAINING OBJECTIVES* Upon completing this course, you will: - Know the principles of topic-oriented authoring - Know the DITA content units - Be able to create topics of various information types - Be familiar with the main elements of the DITA information model ** *BRING YOUR OWN LAPTOP (BYOL)* You bring your own laptop to class. In class, we install the required software and you do hands-on exercises on your laptop.
