I know both programs fairly well and could not make that blanket statement. There is a plug-in that can convert MIF files to ID (from dtptools.com). Of course, with any conversion, there will be some clean up work. Most people think that ID cannot work with large documents, but I was recently conversing with users that have produced documents over 2000 pages.
