My service manuals have a series of mechanical drawings that demonstrate how pieces of our equipment come apart. The images are created in SolidWorks CAD software and exported as an AI file for my use. I add in details like part numbers, required tools, etc and then save the image as an EPS which is then imported by reference into the correct file in my book. The first drawing is an exploded view that shows all the serviceable parts. I have now been requested to use XREFs to allow users to jump from a specific labelled part to that part's specific drawing. My question is: How do I do this? Is there some way to overlay a frame on the image so I can insert an XREF? So far, all my attempts to do this have failed. Is what I want to do even possible? Or maybe I've just missed a simple step. Any help would be appreciated. Alison Alison Craig, Technical Writer Ultrasonix Medical Corporation Tel: (604) 279-8550, ext 127 E-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>
