I suggest you take Steve's advice and make Adobe PDF, not some
physical printer, the printer for FM. I recommend using the SetPrint
plugin (sundorne.com) to set the default in FM to Adobe PDF.

Just to clarify -- the reason for this recommendation is that if you tell FM to use a physical printer, Windoze will pretend that the fonts resident on the printer are actually installed on your PC. (And even if different fonts with the same name DO exist on your PC, FM will use the printer's font metrics to determine line breaks etc. Those metrics may be different from the metrics of your PC's font.)

Obviously, if you change from one physical printer to another, or your file moves from one PC to another, you're going to run into problems of missing fonts or quirky spacing and line/page breaks.

By making Adobe PDF your default printer always, you are ensuring that only the fonts actually installed on your PC are used in your .fm and .pdf documents.

The plug-in Richard recommends has the benefit that it affects only FM; the default printer you select in all your other applications is unaffected. Highly recommended.
