Not sure if this helps, but are you aware that FM (at least as of FM10) is
not set up to spell check books that are within books? You have to do book
maintenance like that at the sub-book level.

Subject: Re: FrameMaker 9 Find not Finding

Carol knows my pain.

Thanks for the suggestions, but
one flow.
no text frames.
no text insets.
no conditional text
not looking for non breaking spaces
not looking in variables or coss references.
not looking in tables, although it usually does find the text in the tables.

I've been using Frame for 20 years, and version 9 for 2 years. This is the
first I've noticed it not finding things that it should.

Maybe a full reinstall when I switch OS will help.

Thanks,
Wendy

I'm running Frame 9 on Win7 and have experienced a lot of
unreliability in Frame's Find function. I don't use conditional text
or text insets, and the text I'm trying to find is not a variable or
specially formatted. Frame is just blind to it sometimes. I can
position the cursor immediately before the text I'm searching for and
Frame says it's not there. There is no consistency or predictability
to this behavior. It is just something I've had to accept as a
head-scratcher.
