Yep. We had a similar problem, and the Windows hotfix cleared it up. It
was a PostScript issue.

Are they running Windows XP? There was a Microsoft bug that caused
dropped characters in PDFs. Microsoft issued a hotfix. In Windows XP
days, most of us installed and recommended it. Information can be
