Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit here. 

Lin, if you feel like experimenting a bit and have FM 10 running, open 
Character Palette. In Task Manager, verify that CharacterMap.exe is in the list 
of running processes. Then close FM 10 and reopen it. See if CharacterMap.exe 
starts up when FM 10 does.
