Hi Mike - I tried that but then it's invisible onscreen as well as in print.
I'm trying to simplify the processes here so I'd hate to add changing views or dealing with more conditions to the already-confused/overburdened staff. Thanks. To make it not appear in a normal, composite printout, you have to use View> Color> Views and move your non-printing color into the Invisible column. It is rather non-intuitive.
