Hi Brenda...
Without knowing more about your automated process, it's hard to say why
it doesn't work. It could be that your tools aren't compatible with
Win7, or it could be that your Win7 installation needs to be modified to
allow the tools to run properly (I guess those are both different sides
of the same coin).
Win7 has much more strict file access requirements than XP. I'd go back
to whoever created the automated tools/scripting and have them make the
necessary adjustments to allow it to work on Win7.
I have been able to run automation with Frame on Win7, so I know it can
be done. Feel free to contact me off list if you'd like help getting
this to work.
Cheers,
...scott

The office where I work uses an automated process to import xml files
into FrameMaker 8 and process them into formatted FrameMaker files.
This automated process has been created internally, utilizing scripts
written in C. We have been using Windows XP and FrameMaker 8 in order
to run this process. We want to upgrade to Windows 7. On a test
computer using Windows 7 we attempted to run this process with
FrameMaker 8. FrameMaker was loading the xml file but the xml file was
not processing into a formatted FrameMaker file. We attempted to run
this using FrameMaker 11 and the xml file was not processing.
Does anyone have any idea why we can't run this automated program
using Windows 7?
