Hi Pankaj,
I un-installed and re-installed .NET Framework, and now FrameMaker 11
and 12 start successfully in structured mode. Thank you for correctly
diagnosing the problem!
I had not made any (known) changes to my system before the failure. I
suspect a Microsoft auto-update corrupted my .NET Framework.
Thanks again!

Hi Alan,
FrameMaker11 and 12 needs .NET 4 for XML code view . It seems that
some of the component of .NET 4 is corrupted in your machine.
Can you please confirm this by following below steps :-
1)Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker12
2)Open maker.ini
3)Comment the following entry *XML View=plugin, structured, xml
view,FMXmlView.dll,PL_SwitchToXmlView*
4)Save maker.ini
5)Launch FrameMaker
Thanks,
Pankaj

*Subject:* Structured FrameMaker failure on startup
Hi All,
Windows 7 running on MacOS/Parallels; FM 11 and 12 fully patched.
I'm getting immediate failure of structured Framemaker 11 and 12 on
startup. ("Internal Error ... FrameMaker has detected a serious
problem and must quit").
The apps start fine in unstructured mode.
I've tried:
- Removing the user-specific ini files
($HOME/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/FrameMaker)
- Disable all third-party plugins
- Disable "LoadStartupScripts" setting in maker.ini
This happened suddenly; I don't know what might have triggered it.
Any ideas?
-Alan
