I did not see the Windows solution proposed for this issue of "disappearing" catalogs, dialog boxes, etc. so I will refresh it for those that encounter the problem, which can easily happen when you change from two monitors to one, change display resolution, etc.
Follow this exact sequence carefully to recover the character catalog: 1. From Frame, click the character catalog icon 2. Hit Alt+[spacebar] (hold down the Alt while hitting and releasing the spacebar) 3. Hit the letter "m" (for Move) (Strike and release) 4. Hit any one of the 4 keyboard arrows. (This "locks" the mouse cursor to the missing catalog/box.) 5. Without touching a button, move the mouse until the catalog/box comes into view. 6. Left-click to set the new position. NOTE: If you use the arrows on the number keypad, make sure that Num Lock is OFF. You can retrieve any missing window/box/dialog/catalog using this technique in any windows program. Just assure that the desired item is "active" when you follow 2 through 6 above. We have a number of dual monitor systems in our area, driven by laptops. I have "saved the day" for several presenters hooked to a single monitor/projector in a conference room after leaving their desk site where they had two; and the needed item was left on the now non-existent monitor. Hope this helps bring joy to Joy and others.
