We use text insets extensively, and find that FM changes the para following the inset to the same style as that at the top of the inset, so we created a "Hidden" character style and applied it to a body paragraph at the top and bottom of each inset. After applying the Hidden character style, those extra paras effectively disappear, but it can be a real bear to work with.
