The Spot Color as Black/White feature works for me when I assign the basic colors to my links and callouts. That is, for call outs, I select Red from the list of colors in the graphics Tools. For the links, the Cross-Reference Format says <Blue>text-here<Default Font>on page<PageNum>.

The easiest solution thus far is to use Print with Adobe PDF as the printer and change the color option to black and white (spot color as black and white doesn't seem to do anything). I still have a slight color differential between my regular text and hypertext (the hypertext shows up as, oh, maybe 90% gray). I started messing about with the Framemaker color views, but didn't get very far. Does anyone actually understand how they work? Thank you all.
