You may also want to post to the Adobe Acrobat group because the problem seems to actually be how the PDF is printed... although I agree that the creation process may be a contributing factor.
If you want to play in Frame, you might want to try selecting the graphic and/or frame, depending on how you placed it, and setting the rule value of each to your background color.
