Hello, I'm not completely sure I understand your question, but maybe this will help.
At my last job, we used Author-it to edit and manage our documentation process. The initial conversion of Word and FrameMaker documents into the Author-it text format was time consuming, but necessary. After that we worked in the Author-it text editor usually without issue. Because our documents were all parts of a larger volume, we would run batch updates every night so that the" books" were always updated. That way we had fewer surprises at release time.
