Chiming in late with my 2 cents.

I have used CS2 on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 with no problems. No
upgrade required.

I somewhat disagree with the notion "you should be planning to ditch the
antique stuff like CS2 just for compatibility reasons." It all depends on which
applications within CS2 you use, and what you do with them. There is absolutely
zero necessity to upgrade Photoshop or Illustrator, if what you are doing is
traditional print-related work. Yes there are newer whiz-bang tools and
features, but MANY of the most recent "improvements" have been geared toward
online or 3D-related creations.

I know people that still use versions of Photoshop going back to version 7.x
without difficulty. Sure the tools aren't as numerous, the interface as pretty,
or the memory use as optimized, but in terms of working on TIFFs, EPS files,
etc., you can still get your work done.

I use CS2, CS3, and CS5 under XP, Vista, and Win7, depending on which computer
I'm working on, with no major problems.

I cannot speak to other components of CS (InDesign, Premiere, SoundBooth, etc.)
as to whether they are as version-independent.

Why do you think W7 would require upgrades to your apps? Just run them
in compatibility mode....
Although you should be planning to ditch the antique stuff like CS2
just for compatibility reasons.
