That's just the way autonumbering works. The autonumber characters always appear after the pilcrow, all the way at the paragraph's right margin setting.
The only way I see to accomplish what you want to do is to use a 2-paragraph solution. You'd define a new paragraph tag that has whatever continuation text string you want to use as its autonumber (using the before paragraph position option). Then you'd define a new paragraph tag that is identical to your regular text paragraph except that it is set to be a run-in head on the Pagination tab of the Paragraph Designer. And to streamline things, you could set that paragraph format to have the "continuation" paragraph as the next patragraph tag. In use, you'd apply the "text continued" tag to the paragraph in question, and then press Enter to insert an otherwise empty paragraph that has the desired autonumbering string. Not pretty, but it works. In other words, I want Blah blah blah - Continued (where "-Continued" is the autonumber) but I get Blah blah blah..............................................................- Continued| where | is the right margin and the dots represent blank space. Happens regardless of whether the autonumber is text, a building block, whatever. What's up with this?
