Thanks.

I'll give this a try.

Subject: Re: XREFs in Images

Named destinations. This is how you do it in order in Frame 8:

a) In the section to which you want to jump, Special > Hypertext, then click
Specify Named Destination. The name has to be unique in your book. And it
doesn't have to be a section, it can be anywhere.

I save these in a text file because a/o Frame 8, there's no help to get the
name later.

b) In your figure, draw a text box where you want the link to be. This will
become a clickable image map. Special > Hypertext, Jump to Named Destination.
Enter the name from step a. Note that to have it jump to a named destination in
another Frame file, you have to append the (path and) file name like:
<path>\framefile.fm:nameddestination.

That should be it and it will work in both HTML and PDF.

My service manuals have a series of mechanical drawings that demonstrate how
pieces of our equipment come apart. The images are created in SolidWorks CAD
software and exported as an AI file for my use. I add in details like part
numbers, required tools, etc and then save the image as an EPS which is then
imported by reference into the correct file in my book.
The first drawing is an exploded view that shows all the serviceable parts. I
have now been requested to use XREFs to allow users to jump from a specific
labelled part to that part's specific drawing.
My question is: How do I do this? Is there some way to overlay a frame on the
image so I can insert an XREF? So far, all my attempts to do this have failed.
Is what I want to do even possible? Or maybe I've just missed a simple step.
Any help would be appreciated.
