Hi Rod, I frequently have to change page size, as the project managers discuss options for brochures, quick starts...
If you don't want to develop a different template, you could give the following a bash (as suggested to me by my excellent partner): 1. Calculate the size of the text frames (including headers, footers and any on custom master pages) that you want in the new files. 2. Change these text frames in your original document. Yes it looks weird, but it saves lots of hassle after the page resize. 3. Save the file as MIF. 4. Open the MIF file in a text editor. 5. Search for PageSize, find the values that follow this string, and use Search+Replace to change them to the size you want. 6. Save and close the MIF file. 7. Open the MIF file in FrameMaker, check that all the page sizes are okay and that the text frames are where you want them. 8. Save as an FM file. You can then use this file to import master page and page size to other files. The majority of these have the following frames: -Footer -Three text boxes that flow to following pages -A header column for each text column I originally set it up as A3 because I thought there would otherwise not be enough room for meaningful amount of text in each frame on each page. I was wrong. Now I want to make it all A4. When I select the files and try to change the page size to A4 it tells me the column sizes will be all wrong - not entirely sure how to fix this easily. Any clues?
