Hi Keith,

Try this,

Wherever the Framemaker document or book is on your system, copy the complete
stuff from there and paste it in Local Disk C:/ of the computer, make sure
there is no folder tree like C:/documents/Keith/keith.fm...,the Framemaker
document should be in the root folder without any folder tree like only in C:/

Once you have the Framemaker document there, open Robohelp and link the
Framemaker document from the new location C:/ and that should fix all your
issues with XREF's.

Let me know it that worked or not.

Harpreet

Two avenues of attack for this - one is to examine the places it worked & where
it didn't in both the resulting RH topic & source FM file - are some xrefs by
paragraph and others by marker tag? Conditional text at play here? There has to
be something going on in or around the xref to make it convert right/wrong
sometimes.
The second area would be to do an experiment where you create a new project in
RH, use your .isf file from your linked project, and do an import of the FM
content (checking to see that all the conversion settings are set to "see
'ABC'") and see if linking vs. importing is at the source of the problem.

Subject: TCS: Frame to Robo Cross Refs: Conversion Unpredictable

Hello,

I'm using FrameMaker 11 and RoboHelp 10 in Adobe Technical Communication Suite
(TCS) 4. My FrameMaker book is linked to RoboHelp.

Assume I have a cross ref like this in Frame:

See "ABC" on page 101.

RoboHelp is supposed to convert the cross ref into a hyperlink like this:

See "ABC".

Most of my cross-references are converted correctly, but some are not. (The "on
page 101" is still there in RoboHelp and the generated WebHelp project.)

In Frame, two references may use the same cross reference format... but
RoboHelp converts the one cross ref OK but not the other. In fact, I've even
copied a cross ref and pasted it into another location in the Frame file. The
original cross ref converts OK, but the copied one does not!

Anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions? Thanks much.

Keith
