That approach involves editing the Windows registry, not a FrameMaker
parameter file. As described it should not lose all your Windows
preferences. It sounds like you might have overwritten your registry
with a clean default copy.

I believe you can achieve the same end by checking the "Disable
display scaling on high DPI settings" option in the Start Menu
shortcut that starts FrameMaker.
