I don't check in here often anymore. (But I DO have an issue that I'll be
posting soon, to do with Windows 10.)

I've been in technical communications for over 30 years, a tech writer for
nearly 20. Learned Frame in 1999 or so.

With that introduction, in my current environment, I would never be able to
deliver my documents on time if I used structured content. Sometimes that
"old-fashioned" process is the best option! The whole key is using the most
appropriate tool for the situation. Nuff said.

[Nearly all of my Operation Manuals are created for a specific custom-built
piece of equipment. Each one runs in the tens of thousands of dollars price
range. My main deliverable continues to be a PRINTED document that will be used
by men and women out in the field without access to internet or even a laptop
or tablet device. Many of my end users work in a landfill, or on an
oil-drilling rig in a remote location.]

This user group continues to ROCK! :-)

Fine, you all can have the last word. I know better than to continue
this debate. I should have known better than to even start it.

Structured markup has been around longer than the web, PDFs, online
help, or personal computers.

Since you make your living from structured content, I'm not going to
waste time explaining why it's not the best choice for every set of
requirements, and why people are still creating interesting and useful
unstructured tools.
