I found that if you add a space where you don't want one, the space
between the formatted chunks goes away, although there's still a visual
space (smaller though). If you add a thin space (\st), the space pretty
much goes away...
Excellent workaround! I wouldn't have thought it would work with respect to
being able to search for the string in the PDF, without including the thin
space, but it seems to :-).
