Also, I know that each shared file is set up to use the host file's formatting/settings, but if the shared file has exactly the same paragraph tags w/ numbering schemes as the container file (and not just inheriting stuff), this usually solves a problem or two w/ TIs.

The problem is that when the book is updated, the mini-TOCs aren't updated with the host book's page numbers, so the mini-TOC might say the topic is on page 3 when it's really on 187.
