"Forget about XML for the time being. You can use DITA or any other structure without having to convert it to XML."
DITA is XML. Or are you saying that you could use unstructured FrameMaker paragraph and character tags in the same way you would DITA elements? That's not entirely true, some elements have no counterpart in unstructured FrameMaker. If you can accomplish something using unstructured FrameMaker, why put in all the time and effort to use structured? Conversely, if you really need DITA, FrameMaker's probably not the best tool. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Roger Shuttleworth <[email protected]> Date: Thu, Jun 28, 2018 at 2:51 AM Subject: Re: [Framers] Starting DITA 1.2 To: [email protected] ... Forget about XML for the time being. You can use DITA or any other structure without having to convert it to XML. I did that for a couple of years before even attempting to create XML. ... _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to [email protected] Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to [email protected]
