I only know about bad influence of wrong paragraph ends x0D:it stops the find process. Most likely it is a resduum of old Word imports. See https://daube.ch/docu/fm-kurs/handout-fm80.pdf#page=336 : Find does not find. I have recently demonstrated this Adobe at the tekom in Stuttgart. This is a problem older than FM-8.
