You’d have many passes through the printing press, each one with a different color. So people would have to create color separations, with the cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and spot colors each sequentially made visible (with the other colors hidden) and then printed. Thank goodness we don’t have to do that anymore! Or print big manuals at all! Alexandra
