PNG is the best format for screen captures. Sometimes you can get away with
GIF. Generally, PNGs are larger. As a rule, I never use JPEG for screen
captures.

However, the real question is your image settings when creating the
PDF--they may be altering the format.

Hi

I create PDF files, which are generally viewed on screen, and possibly
printed by end-users from time to time, and responsive HTML help files.

The user guides contain screen captures in .png format.

Keeping the size of the HTML files down in important.

Is there are better option than png?
