Greetings, all –
Hoping for some help locating help. I need to process PDF files across various
subdirectories such as:
.\POE\Poe\Content\Resources\PDFs\E-Used
Up\The_Galaxy_of_Wit_Or_Laughing_Philosophe.pdf
.\POE\Poe\Content\Resources\PDFs\E-Used Up\Wherefore_change.pdf
.\POE\Poe\Content\Resources\PDFs\G-Other-Sources\Moxon-Perspective.pdf
.\POE\Poe\Content\Resources\PDFs\G-Other-Sources\nealscharcoalske00neal.pdf
.\POE\Poe\Content\Resources\PDFs\Grahams\Graham's Vol. 18-19 1841.pdf
The process is to iterate through all subdirectories under “PDFs” and run:
1. Save as Optimized PDF using my custom settings.
2. Reduce File Size iteratively until the size cannot be reduced any
further.
That’s all. I have about 300 files so far, but expect 1,000+ more. I can get by
with Adobe GUI commands for a while but want to find a scripting source if
possible to avoid the GUI entirely. I am finding that Reduce File Size can take
several iterations to shrink all the way and do not want to spend my day
clicking to perform this particular task.
I have pinged Rick Quatro, who pointed me toward the forums, but recall many
Acrobat folk hang here as well.
Anyone?
