Hello Friedemann,
thank you for your answer.
Indeed the chemistries of Tetenal are very good, but how then to solve this
problem stock difference between the 1st developer and the other chemistries ?

It is a BW developer, but not easily replaceable. Dokumol for example makes
strong color casts and shifts.
I'd support Tetenal and buy their chemistry. They are pretty much the supplier
for everybody else by now, too.

isn't the first developer simply a b/w developer that can be replaced by
Dokumol for example?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your answer.

Ok, we can check with Bellini, and try Cinestill.

The idea was to find a first developer that we can buy separatly from the whole
kit, while finishing the rest of the kit (the problem is that Tetenal does not
sell it separatly).

all the best,
Esther.

Hi Esther,

The only option I can think of is that you ask Bellini Italy to sell you only
the first developer. Bellini makes E6 kits. You cannot purchase directly from
Bellini but should contact the reseller in France.

Talk to them, maybe they want to assist you.

The first colour reversal developer of Cinestill is not the same as the one in
an E6 kit, if you look at their info, it is clearly a ‘alternative’ developer
and they will not tell you what it is made from. The Cinestill chemistry is to
reach a certain ‘effect’. You want a plain first developer. But then again it
is worth a try with a test-strip.

Changing the E6 from Tetenal to Bellini or Cinestill does not solve your
problem if you keep on using more first developer than the color and bleach.

Hi,

I am a member of Etna in Montreuil.

We have a problem concerning the stocks of Tetenal chemistries to develop E6.
As the 1st developer is always consumed faster than the others, each time we
have to buy a kit to have a new bottle of 1st developer, and we therefore end
up with large stocks of kits opened but not consumed.

To remedy this, one option would be to use the E6 chemistries produced by
Cinestill
(https://www.freestylephoto.biz/800353-Cinestill-D9-DynamicChrome-1st-Bath-E6-Developer-for-CS6-3-Bath).

We wonder if we could use Cinestill chemistry for the first bath, and Tetenal
chemistry for the other baths. Or, ditch the Tetenal kits and do the whole
process with Cinestill.

Have any of you ever used Cinestill chemistries and could give us your opinion?
What do you think of mixing the 2 chemicals?

all the best,

Esther.
