Philip, Glad to see Flicker get a mention here! It’s been almost 20 years since we were regularly doing the festival.
I went through last year & did a show at UnionDocs’ new space in Carrboro, Fatwood Studio: https://fatwood.studio I don’t think they’re hosting regular events yet, but it’s definitely worth having on your radar. As someone else mentioned, Cosmic Rays is doing great stuff (and co-presented my show). The Nightlight had also offered to host me when I came through—might be worth a look at their FB page, where they seem to be listing recent events. Tom Whiteside remains an area institution with plans to do outdoor screenings in his new retirement digs in Hillsborough. That’s what I know about these days, but it’s surely just a partial picture based on passing through this winter.
