I may have to take back what I said about using the Mac’s Music app to run
a screening! I used iTunes for many years with no issues and after this
thread wanted to see what would happen on my newer, more updated computer.
I had a terrible experience just messing around with the Music app. In
testing with 4k videos shot on my iphone, it choked and stuttered between
videos in a playlist. It also didn’t save volume settings. My computer
has the M1 Pro chip, so it’s got more than enough processing power.
I tried the TV app as well and had the same problems with even fewer
playlist options.

Maybe with more testing I could get it to work, but for now I am
disappointed that the march of progress has claimed another victim. :(
