Die dresdner schmalfilmtage zeigten vom 16. bis 19. März in der Motorenhalle Dresden ganze Programme davon! Und dazu zählten auch die drei Wettbewerbe, in denen acht Preise vergeben wurden. Preise Internationaler Found Footage Wettbewerb Die Gewinner des diesjährigen Internationalen Found Footage Wettbewerbs stehen fest! Der Jury und dem Publikum ist es nicht leichtfallen, es wurde heiß diskutiert, denn jede Filmeinreichung war ein Original, das aus gefundenem Material wie Filmsequenzen, Filmresten oder Geräuschen entstanden ist. Den Jury- und auch den Publikumspreis räumte Jeissy Trompiz "THE SOUND OF THE TIME" ab. Die Jury aus Danila Lipatov (Experimentalfilmer, dessen Filme bereits auf zahlreichen internationalen Filmfestivals präsentiert wurden), Birgit Dunkel (Bildende Künstlerin mit Fokus auf multimediale Film-, Foto-, Performance- und Installations-Projekte) und Lumír Hladík (Künstler der Neo-Avantgarde der Nachkriegszeit und eine Pionierfigur der osteuropäischen Konzeptkunst der 70er Jahre) kürten Trompiz Film mit den Worten: "Der Film ist eine sehr ungewöhnliche und tiefe Erforschung des Vermächtnisses von Klang, von Sound, in der Geschichte des menschlichen Leidens." Zudem vergab die Jury für den Film "EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT YOU" von Roland Denning eine lobende Erwähnung: "Dieser Film ist eine göttliche Vorwegnahme der technologischen Evolution des heutigen orwellschen Albtraums", so die drei Jurymitglieder. Der Publikumspreis des Internationalen Found Footage Wettbewerbs wird vom Filmverband Sachsen gestiftet. Preise Livevertonungswettbewerb
Auch bei der diesjährigen Livevertonung wurde heiß diskutiert und es war für Jury und Publikum besonders schwer aus den abwechslungsreichen und vielfältigen Beiträgen zu wählen. "MYRTAs Darbietung faszinierte uns", so die Jury, "da sie zum Einen immersiv war und der Film mitgetragen wurde von MYRTAs Musik. Und zum Anderen weil die Verbindung von Bild und Sound auf sehr hohem Niveau erfolgte". MYRTA, bestehend aus Martina Stoye und Michael Gramm vertonten den Film „Gefährlicher Spielplatz“ und gewannen den Jurypreis. "Das ist Filmmusik, die berührt und fasziniert", so die Jury aus Musikerin und Kinderbuchautorin Enna Miau, Simon Arnold, Schlagzeuger der Band Søjus1 und leidenschaftlicher Livevertoner, und Alexander Stark, Freier Film- und Theaterkritiker, Filmkurator und Ko-Leiter der Filmgalerie Phase IV Dresden. Das Publikum in der ausverkauften Motorenhalle Dresden überzeugte die Leipziger Musikerin DIVA DANEBEN mit der Vertonung des Filmes "Erkältung skrankheiten". "Ihr Witz hebt auf verschiedensten Ebenen ab. Großartig", so eine Publikumsmeinung. Preise Internationaler Wettbewerb Super 8/16 Der Internationale Wettbewerb Super 8/16 begrüßte auch in diesem Jahr wieder die neuesten Produktionen im Schmalfilmformat aus aller Welt. Ein vielfältiges Panorama an Genres - von Spielfilmen über Dokumentarfilme bis hin zu Experimentalfilmen - traf auf das Publikum und die Jury. Und beide wählten ihren Favoriten. Die Jury überzeugte der "I AM A", ein Film der Berliner Super8-Filmemacherin Dagie Brundert. "Dieser Film, kurz und einfach, ist voller Emotion und so ehrlich, wie er das Filmmaterial verwendet", so die internationale Jury aus Aga Jarząb (Filmemacherin, Animatorin und Grafikdesignerin), Maciek Bączyk (Bildender Künstler, mit Fokus auf Experimentalfilm und Installation) und Rasmus Gerlach (Dozent, Filmkurator und Filmemacher). Neben der Jury wählte auch das Publikum seinen Favoriten. Hier gewann der Film von Manuel Francescon und Michael Sommermeyer "MOTIVATIONAL FILM NO. 751 - JOB DESCRIPTION: CONCRETE WORKER". "Wenn Werbung tatsächlich so aussehen würde, w äre die Welt ein besserer Platz", so die Jury, die diesem Film ebenso eine lobende Erwähnung aussprach. Der Jurypreis wird gestiftet von Filmotec. Das Festivalteam freut sich über den großen Zuspruch durch die Besucher*innen.
