Competition Super8/16
Until November 30, 2023
films of all genres can be submitted to the International Competition Super8/16
at dresdner schmalfilmtage. The films have to be produced in combination with 8
or 16 mm formats, in an independent production since 2021, and are not longer
than 20 minutes.

International Found Footage Competition
Until November 30, 2023
In cooperation with the Filmverband Sachsen (Saxony Film Association) the
dresdner schmalfilmtage awards again prizes for works that deal with film and
heritage. For the International Found Footage Competition works can be
submitted, which deal with archive material in the film formats 8mm or 16mm.
Whether including archival footage, a new score or mixing original sound with
new footage – there are no set limitations concerning the engagement with
historical film material. The films have to be produced in an independent
production since 2021, and are not longer than 20 minutes.

The special prize was initiated in 2018 by FILMVERBAND SACHSEN e. V. in the
framework of his project "Audiovisual Heritage in Saxony" with the support of
the Saxon State Ministry for Science and the Arts (SMWK). For more information,

Internationaler Wettbewerb Super8/16
Bis zum 30. November 2023
können Filme aller Genres für den Internationalen Wettbewerb Super8/16 der
dresdner schmalfilmtage eingereicht werden. Die Filme müssen in Verbindung mit
den Formaten 8 oder 16 mm in unabhängiger Produktion seit 2021 entstanden und
dürfen nicht länger als 20 Minuten sein.

Internationaler Found Footage Wettbewerb
Bis zum 30. November 2023
In Kooperation mit dem Filmverband Sachsen vergeben die dresdner schmalfilmtage
erneut den Preis für Arbeiten, die sich mit dem Filmerbe beschäftigten. Für den
Internationalen Found Footage Wettbewerb können Werke eingereicht werden, die
sich mit Archivmaterial in den Filmformaten 8mm oder 16mm auseinandersetzen, in
unabhängiger Produktion seit 2021 entstanden und nicht länger als 20 Minuten
sind. Ob verwendete Filmausschnitte aus dem Archiv, Neuvertonungen oder neue
Bilder zur originalen found footage Tonspur – der Auseinandersetzung mit dem
historischen Schmalfilmmaterial sind keine Grenzen gesetzt.
Jurypreis
Publikumspreis: Zuschuss für Recherchearbeit in internationalen Filmarchiven.
2018 wurde der erstmalige Sonderpreis vom FILMVERBAND SACHSEN e. V. im Rahmen
seines Projekts „Audiovisuelles Erbe in Sachsen“ mit Unterstützung des
Sächsischen Staatsministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kunst (SMWK) gestiftet.
