There are plenty of outfits that recell batteries, and there is probably one in your town. Anyone who can rebuild battery packs for walkie-talkies for the local police department can also rebuild camera battery packs. There are mail order ships like Mr. Nicad which will do it, but it's usually easier to take it to a local battery shop and have them do it.
THAT SAID... if the camera hasn't been run for a long time, long enough that the battery is dead... I would want to get it cleaned and lubricated before actually using it.
